We got home today from the hospital at around. The kitchen was clean (thanks, Brigitte) and we had a lovely lasagna to tuck into (thank, Emilie). We're settling in, introducing Peanut to Sophie, and working on our photos and videos when we get the chance. Here's a video I took when Sophie was less than 12 hours old. Check it out!

We promise we'll post a bunch of new photos soon - in the meantime, here's a close-up of our peaceful little baby girl when she was 1 day old. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful emails that you have been sending us... we're so excited to share this momentous event with all of you.
A friend of ours just suggested via text message that I write down everything I remember about the birthing experience before I forget. I thought, "why not do that right here?"
First of all, last night was already supposed to be busy -- even without Charlotte going into labor. We had a Christmas party to go to and I had a hockey game at 11:45 PM. The weather in Golden got a bit dicey and we decided to bail on all plans at about 6:00. About an hour later, Charlotte was complaining about cramps and the journey had begun.
