Sophie's first Rockies game

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Sophie, Charlotte, and me at the Rockies gameCharlotte bought a mini season package of Rockies tickets for my birthday, and tonight was our second game. With the weather improving, we decided to take baby Sophie to her first game.

Unfortunately, she hadn't taken good naps during the day and was fussy from the opening pitch. One and a half laps around the concourse in her BabyBjörn and she conked out. We were able to enjoy the next three innings in peace before she woke up hungry.

The Rockies ended up losing the game 8-6, but they were winning 4-3 when we left. Maybe it's best we missed the late inning disappointment.

Wipeout

WipeoutCharlotte wiped out the other day on sheer ice on our way to a routine prenatal doctor's appointment. I looked back in my rear view mirror and suddenly she was off the road in this construction site. Not a good feeling. She got her heart rate up a little, but fortunately was otherwise OK. Three hours later the Mini was extricated from this mess and we went back to our daily routine.

Mini Jump

Mini JumpWe finally had some nice weather around here after a bunch of lousy days. I guess today was supposed to be all about melting snow, but the storm that was going to dump 18" of snow on us Thursday night missed the area completely.

Seizing upon this perfect afternoon, Charlotte and I decided to take a little drive in the Mini and take some pictures. It was also a bit of a test drive for the new GPS I got for our Japan trip. I know, I know... I'm a geek. :)

Climbing Mt. Bierstadt

BierstadtCharlotte and I got up early yesterday morning and headed up to climb Mt. Bierstadt, a 14,000 ft. peak near Georgetown, CO. I've been all excited about photgraphy since we've been looking at wedding and scuba pictures, so I decided to bring up the heavy camera gear -- digital SLR, two lenses, and my heavy Bogen/Manfrotto tripod. I had thought about renting a nice wide angle lens for the hike, but I didn't look into it until Friday and the camera shop didn't have the one I wanted in stock.
