The weekend before last, I made my second annual Geezers Vegas Hockey trip. Last year it was just me, but this time Charlotte came along for the ride. And what a ride it was! The weekend started out with a thud as we blew out a tire on I-70 on the way to the airport. I've thought about how bad it would be to blow a tire on the way to the airport before, only it'd never happened to me. We ended up missing our flight and could have been stuck in the airport for about 10 hours due to the full Vegas flights (opening weekend of the NCAA basketball tournament), but we were able to get on standby for the next flight. Whew!

We went out to dinner the other night with our friends Shruti and Anil who are also the owners of a Mini. Its name is Tidka, which means small in Hindi. Shruti was excited to help me name my mini. She asked some great questions looking for inspiration: "Do you and Scott have any pet names for each other? How about the word for 'freedom' but in a different language? Do you guys have a place that means something to you?" We immediately thought of Isla Mujeres -- and thought, maybe, Izla, would be a nice name.

I finally got my dream car. Isn't it sexy?! Apparently, Mini owners name their cars. I'm having trouble coming up with the perfect name. Anyone have any ideas?
