We've been talking about it for a little while. I initially wanted to wait until we had kids... But with Charlotte running her business out of our house, I figured now was a pretty good time to do it. We got a puppy! Her name is Peanut. She's 3/4 miniature pinscher and 1/4 chihuahua, and she's 10 weeks old.
Charlotte contacted a family that'd waited two years to get her, but their 3 year-old son was used to his grandmother's big dogs and couldn't see why he should be any more gentle with this little 5 lb. dog. We went up there Wednesday night and brought her straight home.
Charlotte always said that she wanted to have big dogs. I grew up with a medium (35 lb.) dog and figured that was about the perfect size. Then we went camping with Kevin and Marjorie and some of Kevin's family. Kevin's sister Nancy had just gotten a miniature pinscher. I'd say that out of the 24 hours we spent camping, that min pin was on Charlotte's lap for about 8. Suddenly there were new possibilities.
My allergies are a little fired up by Peanut, but I figure I can get used to her like I did with our dog growing up. If not, we can get some hypo-allergenic shampoo from the Vet that just conveniently opened up shop across the road from us.
Dear mommy & daddy Bassin. Your new addition is adorable and I hope she brings you much happiness.

Funny I cam across your site on a Isla Mujeres search .... you were married two weeks after my daughter!! Same wedding planner and beautician!! I looked at all you photos. GREAT clear pics!! Someone has a good eye!! My daughter has also gone on the same dive boat twice in Belise, in fact she and her husband have travelled around the world diving. You two sound just like them!
