August 2006 Archives
We've been talking about it for a little while. I initially wanted to wait until we had kids... But with Charlotte running her business out of our house, I figured now was a pretty good time to do it. We got a puppy! Her name is Peanut. She's 3/4 miniature pinscher and 1/4 chihuahua, and she's 10 weeks old.
Charlotte contacted a family that'd waited two years to get her, but their 3 year-old son was used to his grandmother's big dogs and couldn't see why he should be any more gentle with this little 5 lb. dog. We went up there Wednesday night and brought her straight home.
Our friends Sarah and Jon Woods had a beautiful baby girl a few weeks ago on July 18th. Her name is Ella. Isn't that a pretty name. Ella Woods. I think it sounds like a writer. Perhaps she'll be a writer some day. Mike and Jill Thompson also had a little baby girl, Heidi, on July 26th. I think Heidi Thompson sounds like a physician's assistant. Yes, I think that's what she'll be when she grows up. Our friends Marjorie and Kevin are expecting in December. It's around that time. Scott and I are really excited to start a family but we just want to enjoy married life a little before having babies. All that really means, as far as I'm concerned, is getting a few more big trips under our belt. We're talking about going to Japan (backpacker-style) and with his business in Brazil, there may be a future trip to make out of that as well. We'll see.
Oi from São Paulo! I've been down here since last Sunday, beginning an engagement with a new customer. It's a pretty good opportunity for me, both professionally and travel-wise. The meetings with the customer went well and I've really dug Brazil. People have been great, and I've even managed to pick up some Portuguese. I'm probably mispronouncing a lot and using the wrong words some times, but it's similar enough to Spanish that the learning curve has been eased.
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten out and around to do too much, but hopefully that'll change my next trip. This trip is about at an end. I'm heading to the airport in a couple hours, and will be back in Colorado tomorrow morning.
I compiled the "Best of" wedding pictures and posted them in two places. I wanted to add on to our wedding webpage and turn it into a little website, so I did. I made little photo albums with pictures of the Wedding Day and of the Wedding Week in Mexico.
I also wanted to make the photos available online where people can buy prints so I created a few albums in Kodak Easy Share Gallery. Here's the link
Enjoy!!!
