Transitioning back to "Real" Life

| | Comments (1)

I was going to write a nice heartfelt entry thanking everyone for traveling overseas to come be with us on our special day -- but Scott beat me to it! I have a good excuse though: I've been working on photos of the week in Mexico (as well as from our honeymoon in Belize). The professional photographer's photos are in the mail so we won't have those until next week. The ones we do have will be posted soon for all to see. In the meantime, a few of our friends and family have sent us links to online photos albums, we thought we might share them with you all here:

Sally's Album
Sandy's Album
Molly's Album
Val's Album
Megan and Michael's Album

By the way, we're wondering, for those of you who did take photos... could you do us a huge favor and send us a CD of all your pictures. The online albums are great for viewing but we would love to have the hi-res versions. Email us if you need our mailing address. Thanks in advance!!

So... yeah, this transition back to reality really isn't easy. There's this feeling of emptiness. We were surrounded by the most important people in our lives for an entire week on an island that felt like paradise. Submerged in love. Even our honeymoon was full of fun and wonderful people... and just enough time spent alone in our cabin or holding hands cruising underwater exploring that wonderous world. Now, we're just left with the photos and the incredible memories, as if it were all a dream.

Now Scott is back in the office (feels strange after being together 24/7 for 2 weeks) and I'm faced with a To Do list that seems endless -- changing my name: marriage license papers, new driver's license, social security, passport, bank accounts, credit cards; then there's my business, which I can't neglect for too long, my current clients and the neverending search for new clients, following up on a bunch of leads and getting out there to do the networking thing.

I also want to get in touch with everyone. This is my first attempt at that. I will be sending emails shortly. I will also be distributing a list of everyone who was there and their email addresses since many of you seemed to have made new friends and even two of you ignited a little love thing (wink-wink), though I'm certain you've already exchanged email addresses!

For now though, back to the photos. And let me leave you with a quick anecdote to demonstrate what a wonderful husband I have. Yesterday, I expressed to Scott that I was feeling a little overwhelmed by all that is expressed above. "Charlotte," he said, "you've been working so hard and your business has been so successful over the past 6 months... why don't you take it easy for this next week, work on the photos, get in touch with everyone, take care of the name change thing... get back to work when that's all done."

Isn't he wonderful?
