Southwest Airlines started serving Denver at the beginning of this year. Thanks to their low prices, Charlotte and I were able to book a trip to Las Vegas for less than $200 total roundtrip! Going to Vegas ended up being my birthday celebration, even though Charlotte already was fantastic to me on my actual birthday, making a pancake breakfast in the morning, giving me some fabulous island-style shirts for Mexico, etc.
Our friends Kevin and Marjorie have similar birthdays to ours. Marjorie's is within 6 days of mine, and Kevin's is within 2 days of Charlotte's. That made it an easy decision to ask them to join us for the joint birthday celebration. Good thing we did, too! Marjorie sorted out the accomodations question and got us a room at Excalibur. Plus, they are frequent Vegas visitors, so they knew all the good places to eat, gamble, sightsee, etc. The plan for now is to go as a foursome to New York City for Charlotte's and Kevin's birthdays this fall. That way, maybe we can return the favor of leading the expedition.
I stayed there tooo. I was born to live in Vegas I think, its my kinda town ;)
