Yesterday Charlotte and I returned from Cancun, and I'd have to categorize our trip as a success. We went down there with the single goal of putting together a basic plan for our wedding, and that's just what we did. There are a lot of details yet to be worked out, but it looks like we'll be tying the knot on either June 30 or July 1 on a beautiful Isla Mujeres beach.
Tuesday morning we met up with a wedding planner, Juliette, on Isla Mujeres. She took us around Na Balam, her favorite resort for holding the events. It's a lovely place with a fantastic beach, and Charlotte and I knew immediately that we'd found a place where we could have a great wedding. Also, we were immediately comfortable with Juliette and think it'll be great to work with her.
Juliette invited us back to the island the next night to visit with the woman who could perform our ceremony. Afterward we were to check out a band that we might hire for the reception. This was also an opportunity for us to go over, in more detail, an outline of the plans for the ceremony and reception. Impressed with the band and with the framework Juliette had put together for us, we went to bed that night excited about our wedding!
