My mom and step-dad (the legendary Almeister) threw us an engagement party last night. They went all out with Lebanese food, platters from Zingerman's in Ann Arbor, multiple cakes and desserts, tons of appetizers, beer and wine -- you name it and it was there.

Also there were lots of Northville neighbors (past and present) and family friends. It was good for me to see people I haven't seen for years. Also making the drive down from Fenton, MI were Charlotte's good friends Megan and Michael. Good times were had by all! Thanks, Mom and Al!

We finally got around to having a party!! With the holidays approaching we decided to have a joint Holiday/Housewarming party. We did some decorating, made mulled wine, tapped the keg and opened our door wide to all our shivering guests who made their way over in the snowy weather. A lot of people couldn't come because of the icy roads, but we had a blast with those who did. And for those of you who didn't make it -- we still have 3/4 of a keg sitting chilled in our garage, so pop on by and poor yourself a glass or two. Cheers!!

Tonight Charlotte and I picked out our first ever Christmas tree. Well, the first one that doesn't fit on top of Charlotte's desk anyway.

The drive back after picking up the tree was bitter cold, what with hatchback of the Civic open and the outside temperature dipping below zero. I just hope we get to decorate it some time soon. It's shaping up to be a busy December.
