We spent a few wonderful days in Paris. This was supposed to be our time to relax, just the two of us, before heading home and back to work, but of course, this is Paris... lots to see and lots to do! We walked everywhere, did some shopping on the Champs Elysee and the Galleries Lafayette, ate at little bistros, sat in the grass under the Eiffel tower, watched beach volleyball being played in front of the Hotel de Ville, checked out Notre Dame and even paid Mona Lisa a visit in the Louvre.
We stayed in a beautiful little studio apartment in Montmartre -- on the 7th floor with a little balcony overlooking all of Paris. At the end of a long and busy day we would go to our neighborhood cheese shop, buy a big chunk of mystery (but undoubtedly tasty) cheese, get a baguette from the local patisserie and then go across the street to the wineshop... then carry our purchases up the millions of stairs to our little penthouse and feast.
You'd think those stairs would have kept off the calories, but alas, no. To friends and family who may see us after this trip, you may notice we're both a bit more plump than the last time you saw us. You can't blame us, the cheese was good... as were the pastries and desserts. Do not fret... we have promised to get back to the gym and into the mountains upon our return!
